First Catch in Alola, Ketchum-Style!

Bewear’s den (Japanese: キテルグマの巣 Kiteruguma’s nest) is an anime-exclusive location in the Alola region used by Bewear for shelter. It is located in a hollowed-out tree within the dense forests of Melemele Island.

It first appeared in First Catch in Alola, Ketchum-Style!, in which Jessie caught her Mimikyu while staying there. Similarly, James went on to catch his Mareanie inside Bewear’s den in The Sun, the Scare, the Secret Lair!.

Team Rocket’s HQ inside the den

In The Sun, the Scare, the Secret Lair!, due to the constant supplies of honey and Berries alongside its secretive location, Team Rocket decided to use Bewear’s den as their base of operations whilst in Alola. Team Rocket built their headquarters on the level above the den’s entrance and completed their new base renovations in A Seasoned Search!.

In Some Kind of Laziness!, Jessie, James, and Meowth were forced to seek shelter in a cave after it began raining at the Ruins of Abundance. They revealed that they quite enjoyed Bewear’s company and the comfy feeling of the den.

When Bewear picked Team Rocket up from Aether Paradise in Don’t Ignore the Small Stufful!, she was reunited with her child, Stufful, and brought it back home.

Bewear’s den was overrun by a group of Meltan in SM111. The Hex Nut Pokémon melted their way through much of Team Rocket’s electronic equipment, including the central control network. The Meltan soon escaped after attacking Team Rocket with several Flash Cannon attacks.

Magazine Pokémon

Should the magazine Pokémon really be listed under Pokémon on the island? I’ve always thought this section was for Pokémon encountered on the island during the episode and also Pokémon in flashbacks on the island… ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 23:38, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

They did count as appearances which was why I put them there, unless I overlooked something. PattyMan 23:46, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

I know but are they Pokémon seen on the island? No. They are Pokémon seen in a magazine, photo’s from Pokémon not taken on the island. That’s what I mean. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 23:51, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Come to think of it, I am going to discount them as the ones on the island since the Pokémon in the magazine could have been from somewhere else. PattyMan 23:55, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Page move

A character from the anime is named Carl in the dub and has the same spelling as confirmed via close captioning. I believe this page should be moved to Carl (Adventures) since it reflects the change and both Carls would be more likely searched. PattyMan 23:26, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

Main page

Serebii.net, also known as SPP (Serebii’s Pokémon Page), is a fan site created by Serebii in the fall of 1999, when many Pokémon sites were quickly starting to appear. The site first gained popularity as a GeoCities site, where it was also a member of the Articuno Island network. The site also had a close affiliation with the short lived Pokémon Official Magazine in the UK.

It is a well known source for anime and games information. The website is updated on an almost daily basis. A popular feature of the site is the “Pokéarth”, a complete listing of all in-game Trainers and catchable Pokémon in every city and route.

Serebii.net’s name is taken from the romanized Japanese name for Celebi. The Pokémon also serves as the site’s mascot.

History

The original SPP was established in October 1999 as a GeoCities site, as a result of lunchtime website design sessions between Serebii and a friend. While initially not as prominent as sites like The Pokémasters, UPN, and the original Bulbagarden, Serebii soon began to gain popularity, and, by 2002, after becoming Serebii.net, became one of the most visible Pokémon fansites. It eventually eclipsed the remaining older fansites in terms of popularity and activity.

Originally, Serebii.net was hosted for free on a large variety of servers as it grew. However, once Serebii’s popularity exploded, these servers proved inadequate, resulting in frequent downtime. As a result, in 2003, Ledian_X introduced Craig Maloof to Serebii, who made an offer to pay for Serebii’s server costs. Since that time, Serebii.net has been hosted on Craig’s own private servers, with the hosting bills apparently being paid for via the single Google AdWords banner on every page of the site and forums.

In early 2006, after the site had made enough excess to pay Craig back for the time he personally funded the servers, it was decided to move the site onto servers under the sole control of Serebii, with assistance from ricocheting, a person who had helped Craig run his servers in the past.
